We started our sequence on the fortnight against racism and anti-Semitism with a speech by the association «The Roof of the World» (Poitiers community center / toitdumonde-csc86.org/) Including here’s a summary. What common Emile Zola, Tony Parker, Picasso, Marie Curie and Charlie Chaplin? They are migrants from France and became famous in our country. An immigrant is a person who moves to a country other than that from which it originated. The difficulties for migrants are manifold.

You have to know the language, have papers, housing and work. It is important to be well received and not be a victim of racism. We then talked wars, climate migration and political persecution. All these issues were illustrated by the short film «The immigrant» Charlie Chaplin.

Then we read or reread the FTJ (junior Worksheet) conducted by the CM of the school of the Three Fountains of Saint-Nazaire-sur-Charente. On the latter, we have determined one of the circuits used by migrants who pass by Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt and Libya. During this last step, «traffickers» are smuggle migrants in a country in exchange for considerable sums of money. This project has become even more important since we know that our school will become Simone Veil school.
